It is important that when selecting your commercial flagpole that you choose a commerical flappole capable of supporting the largest flag you intend to fly in the highest wind speed. Commercial Flagpole Halyard Systems There are two types of halyard systems used for commercial flagpoles, internal and external. (A Halyard system is the rope and pulley system used to raise and lower a flag.).
External halyard systems are as they sound, they are external to the flagpole. With this arrangement, the flag is attached to a rope, which is looped through a pulley wheel at the top of the pole. Internal halyard systems are internal to the commercial flagpole and the drive system is located in the flagpole shaft. Internal halyard systems provide greater security (and less clanking). Badgerland's commercial flagpoles have both types of halyard systems.
